Home smoked salmon
One of our proudest achievements was winning a star for our home smoked salmon at the Great Taste awards both in 2014 and 2016. In Great Taste terms, to win a star for a product means that it is ‘simply delicious’ and that it differentiates our product from the norm. It will have been judged by a minimum of 10 palates.
We work hard to get our smoked salmon just right, and it is a process that cannot be rushed. Here’s what sets our smoked salmon apart from the rest:
- We smoke and hand slice it ourselves.
- We use the finest quality Shetland salmon from small independent farms.
- We dry cure it for 24 hours before smoking it over pure oak for 18 hours.
Our customers tell us that the smoked salmon at Williams and Bunkell Fishmongers is the finest they have ever tasted. But don’t just take our word for it! You’ll have to come in and try it for yourselves. We sell packets of 125g, 175g and 250g. A 250g packet is generally considered to be a good starter for 4 people.
Home smoked haddock
We entered our home smoked haddock at the Great Taste awards in 2016 and won two stars. Like our smoked salmon, it is dry cured and smoked over oak for 8-10 hours. It’s a bestseller!
Elmbridge Best Independent Retailer of the Year 2013
Williams and Bunkell were the proud winners of the Elmbridge Best Independent Retailer of the Year award in 2013.
